On 24th May, 2023, Matak Janagosthi Research & Development Foundation organised a programme commemorating the 221st death anniversary of the great Matak King Swargadeu Sarbananda Singha at the P.W.D. Convention Centre, Dispur, Guwahati, Assam.

Apart from religious rituals and symposiums and seminars, display of the rich cultural traditions of the community was also organised where the honorable invitees were served with traditional cuisines and delicacies of the Mataks.

Those who attended the event amongst others are Shri Bimal Bora, hon'ble Minister, Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Assam, Shri Atul Bora, hon'ble Minister, Agriculture, Govt. of Assam,Shri Pabitra Margherita, hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Assam, Shri Saroj Gohain, president of Matak Autonomous Council, Shri Pulok Gohain, Chairman, Assam State Housing Board, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Bora, former President, Assam Sahitya Sabha and Shri Adip Phukan, senior journalist.
